So What is All the Hype About Mafia Wars?

Do you find yourself asking this question? Do you find your Facebook friends asking you to “join their mafia” or sending you gifts such as bodyguards or tommy guns? Are many of your friends playing Mafia Wars on Facebook and you feel left out? Well if you are like me then this game certainly has you curious to find out why everyone seems to be so addicted to it.

Let’s start with the basics. Mafia Wars is a turn based strategy game. What this means is that it does not require any hand eye coordination but rather you need to decide what to do and click it. The game contains six basic stats that you can increase as you gain levels by earning experience from completing various jobs, tasks, fighting, robbing, helping friends do the same and more.

When you first start the game you will have to choose the type of mobster you want to be. Each type gives you a different skill. The character type you choose will also give you the ability to be hired by your mafia friends in certain positions on their mafia. The maniac will let you be a top mafia button man, which gives you a chance to automatically win a fight. The Mogul will let you be hired as a bagman which will give you a chance to earn double money on jobs. And the last type is fearless and will let you get hired as a top mafia wheelman, which will give you a chance to spend zero energy on jobs.

Special skills each mobster type receives:

-The Mogul character type gives you cash from your various forms of cash flow at a slightly faster rate. You will get cash every 54 minutes instead 60.
-Fearless character type gives you increased health regeneration. Which means you will get two health back instead of one each time you regenerate it.
-The Maniac character type will give you increased energy regeneration. You will regenerate energy once every 3 minutes instead of every 5. This character type is the best choice to take in my opinion.

When you first start the game you will be in New York City and you simply start doing the first tier of jobs and also use your stamina to fight. When you level up you will need to allocate skill points to each of the five stats. Choosing energy is a good choice as it will allow you to complete more jobs. Stamina also helps as you can fight and rob more which earns experience and money. I think health is the least important skill until you reach a very high level. And of course it always helps to grow your mafia by inviting more friends this will make fighting and robbing much easier.
