I made just over 27000 gold in 30 days and I am going to give 4 tips on how you can do it as well.

Tip 1: the AH: the auction house can be your most profitable tool, but you need to know how to use it, there are some great add-ons that can help in that department e.g. auctioneer, but the most effective way of making gold on the auction house is predicting what is going to raise in price or lower in price, this is usually done by carefully examining the patch notes and working out what items are going to be in high demand. since you want your items to sell, and you don’t want to have to repost them onto the auction house, (which costs you gold) then you should sell them for just under the lowest price that is currently on the auction house

Tip 2: Gathering Professions: if you just want to make gold then the gathering professions are a must. There are three gathering professions in total. Skinning, Mining, Herbalism. Skinning is quite useful while you are leveling up but when you have reached 80 you don’t want to be wasting your time killing mobs just to skin them, Skinning also will sell less frequently because it has less crafting professions requiring it. Mining is the most profitable gathering profession because it is required by jewelcrafters, blacksmiths and engineers. herbalism does not net as much as it used to in the burning crusade because of the change in the way that elixirs and flasks work

Tip 3: Get the biggest bags that you can, whether you are farming for gold from mobs or even if you are still leveling investing in bigger bags means that you can go longer with out going back to town or the city. the difference in upgrading from a Netherweave bag to a Frostweave bag is four slots, if you did this for all four of your bags that would be equal to a 16 slot bag, or one Netherweave bag.

Tip 4: If you have decided to kill mobs for your method of gathering gold always loot everything from the corpse e.g. if you are killing the converted heroes in icecrown they have a high chance of dropping “Thick Fur Clothing Scraps” a full 20 stack of these will sell for 10 gold to the vendor, you will also get allot of greens that you can sell at the auction house (See tip 1) or disenchant
